What We Do

At The Shore Sanctuary, we believe that while life may cast the vulnerable onto difficult shores, it does not define their end. As an all-species, medical-needs rescue with a heart for birds, we provide a permanent haven for animals facing lifelong physical and emotional challenges. We are a 100% volunteer-powered community where every dollar goes directly to specialized care, ensuring that every resident has the medical support and peace they need to find their strength.Here, we believe that the tide of an animal's life should always lead to safety. We are a permanent haven for residents who have weathered difficult storms—those with lifelong medical needs, physical differences, and emotional trauma.

While our hearts are deeply rooted in the care of birds, our sanctuary is open to all species. Our family currently includes:

• Birds: Exotic parrots, emus, chickens, roosters, ducks, turkeys, pigeons, geese and more.

• Farm & Domestic Friends: Pigs, goats, dogs, and cats.

For most of our residents, The Shore Sanctuary is their final home. Because we specialize in medical-needs rescue, we provide a level of individualized care that ensures they don’t just survive—they thrive.

 From daily essential medications and treatments to routine vet visits, vaccines, and preventative care, we manage the complex health needs of every soul here.

 Clean, species-specific enclosures and environments are very essential to providing a safe, and comfortable haven.

Healing isn’t just physical. We provide daily enrichment activities to keep our residents’ minds active and their spirits happy.

As a 100% volunteer-run organization. With no paid staff, every dollar donated by our community is funneled directly into the medical care and comfort of our residents.Every donation goes directly to the residents in our care. 

We offer guidance and resources to the community, helping others navigate the challenges of animal care.Community engagement Through volunteer days and fundraisers. We speak at local events to raise awareness for medical-needs animals and the beauty of rescue.
